Email auto-reply upon form submission

This is not directly possible on Run, but can be done via an integration.

Updated today

Many campaigns want to send an automated email after someone submits a form on their Run website. While Run does not provide email sending, many of our integrations provide the capacity for this. In other words, if you have an enabled integration that receives the form submission, that integration partner can often send the email automatically.

Some of the information below was provided to us by ChatGPT - if you find any errors in our information, or have trouble setting up an automation, please let us know.

Note: Many of these automations trigger upon an explicit email subscription status being added. In order for our API to pass in the subscription status, you must include the Phone / Email Opt-In checkbox we provide and it must be checked upon submission.

Can send email automatically upon receipt of form submission via Run?

Notes

Set a recurring welcome targeting “new-to-database” (or “new-to-list”) users.

Set up a Ladder with the trigger “Subscribed” (welcome series template works).

Airtable Automations can trigger “When record is created.”

The tag "RUN!" is automatically added to all submissions, and you can set up an automation to trigger based on that tag.

Set up your automation via a Welcome path or a path triggered by “Added to specific list.”

Can by triggered by Automations.

In Engagement → Automation, create a welcome workflow for new subscribers, or use a Triggered Email that fires on subscription and (optionally) feeds an automation—eligibility is based on Email Status = Subscribed.

Google Sheets

While this can not be done out of the box, you can theoretically write a Google Apps script to do this.

Contact-based workflows can enroll when a contact is created.

Under Automations, you can use the preset Welcome Email automation to trigger an email to all new subscribers.

You must connect a Group tag to the submission in the Run form builder destinations section. You can trigger the automation “When a subscriber joins a group.”

🤔

It's possible but requires multiple steps. You must actively enroll the person in an automation – either as a one-off or as a batch action from a filter. Only then can you automate the sending of the follow up email.

Create a Triggered Email for signups or build an Automation workflow (welcome series) in Targeted Email.
