Announcement block

How and when to use the Announcement block

The Announcement block is a splashy, eye-catching block, used to call out various types of short content.

The Announcements block has the ability to add one or more items in a stack. Each item has an eyebrow, headline / description and button (all can be hidden on the sidebar).

Options:

  • Layout options (see screenshots below)

    • One image per item

    • No images per item, but a big splashy background image

    • No images at all

  • Add one or multiple stacked announcements

  • Hide or show the eyebrow, text area, and button for each announcement.

  • Control image alignment and reverse the position of the image and content area, per each announcement item.

  • Small banner at the top of the whole section that can have it's text changed or be turned off entirely.

Best practices:

  • It's best used on the home page, but can be placed anywhere on your site.

  • It's best used with images though the option exists to use it without images.

When to use:

  • Featured events (not part of our standard Events Posts feature, you would set this up manually here).

  • Feature issues (not part of our standard Issues Posts feature, you would set this up manually here).

  • Feature news (not part of our standard Issues Posts feature, you would set this up manually here).

  • Short bio intro blurb, best used with the "background image" layout option.
