How and when to use the Gallery block

The Gallery block provides a grid of images.

By default, the images open up in a lightbox when clicked. The lightbox has arrows for users to cycle through all the images. However, the lightbox can be turned off if preferred.

There is also the option to "allow high resolution downloads". Run compresses images on your web page, but when this option is selected, users who click the download icon the image will receive a browser download of the original image that you uploaded.

When to use the Gallery:

  • When you want to showcase a large number of images

  • As a nice design element on a page, for example, a single row of 4 images to create some design separation in the middle of a bio.

Design options

You can choose the number of images per row, from 1 to 4. The more per row, the smaller they are.

By default, all images get automatically cropped to a perfect square for display on the grid. The "masonry layout" option will shows all your images uncropped, with staggered positioning.
