Text block (not just text!)

Using the Run text block

Run's Text block is our most open ended block, allowing for a wide variety of text content, along with the ability to add inline images, videos, and buttons. In general, we recommend using our other blocks as first resort, but the Text block is powerful for when you simply need a lot of text, or where you need more flexibility than our more specialized blocks offer.

Issues and news posts (the full post) have the same options as the Text block.

Images

Images can be added inside a text block by clicking the image icon on the Text block toolbar. Once added, you can change image options by clicking directly on the image. Options include: turning the image "frame" on and off, shifting the tilt, adjusting size, changing alignment, and adding a hyperlink to the image. Center-aligned images can be made much larger than right or left aligned images.

Video

Videos can be embedded inline by clicking the video icon on the Text block toolbar Once added, you can change video options by clicking on the video and using the toolbar to adjust the size, change the alignment, and swap out the preview image or embed code. Run does not host video directly, as so requires embedding from a video hosting service, more on that here.

Buttons

Buttons can be added to the Text block as well, by clicking the button icon on the Text block toolbar. Once added, clicking on the button opens up a toolbar which has a variety options. To start, you can click the + symbol on the toolbar to add up to three buttons in the same spot.

The toolbar also allows you to change button styling, size, alignment, button text, hyperlink, and "float". The icon of the arrow pointing downwards controls "float" which is relevant if the button might be wrapping around an inline element like image or video. Clicking the float icon will force it to sit below those elements, rather than wrapping them like text.
